NY MTL

Greetings blogging world,

I know- I know, I've been MIA the past few months (feels like centuries), so I thought I would give you guys an update on what I've been up to lately. Last week, I went to New York to visit Columbia and Fordham University. They both were absolutely beautiful and made me even more excited than I already am about college. The whole New York stay usually isn't my thing, but this trip felt somewhat different in terms of the people that I met and the things that I saw. It just felt like all NewYorkins (not sure if that's how its spelled) were super nice and that New York wasn't the scary, dirty, and crowded place that I remembered on my previous past trips. I also visited the best place in the world, Montréal, Canada. If you guys remember, I made a blog post on the best places I've been to-- and Montréal was one of them. Anyways, there I visited my cousins and it was perfect timing because it was my cousin's (basically my sister) 18th birthday. This mini getaway was perfect because it alleviated my brain from all of the stress from school and I just felt more relaxed by the end of my stay. Here are a couple of pictures I took in New York and Canada!

HNY

Hey guys, can you you believe that it's the end of the year already? because I can't. This year has been filled with wonderful memories made, unforgettable trips taken, and friendships that continue to grow. I'm really excited to see what 2015 has in store for me and I hope that you guys all enjoyed your New Years. I had such a fun time celebrating and dancing with my cousins. Happy New Years!

Happy [59°F] Holidays!

Finally! I've been able to catch up on all of my sleep thanks to this amazing break. Although it's the holiday season, it has been everything BUT a white Christmas (meaning no snow whatsoever). It literally was hot enough for me to throw on sunglasses and grab a few pics. I hope that you all enjoyed the holiday season, no matter what you celebrate. Even though there hasn't been much snow, I'm happy that this period can be a time where all of my family members can come together. Currently, I'm watching Drake and Josh with my sissy and drinking some hot coco.

Monique's 17th!

Today was one of my closest friends and fellow blogger's 17th birthday! She had the most awesome idea of taking us out to Frederick, MD and there we enjoyed roaming around and wandering off into random places. We also got the chance to visit cute little stores, buy souvenirs, and take amazing photos. I loved Mo's approach in how she wanted to celebrate her birthday because in my opinion, it was a wonderful way of bringing all of her friends together yet at the same time, proves that birthdays don't always have to be extravagant and over-the-top in order for people to enjoy themselves. I'm so glad that I was one of the people that she decided share this experience with and I'm so grateful for our friendship. Love you Mo and Happy Birthday!

The Motherland

Greetings loved ones,

It's been a while since I haven't posted anything on my blog because I've been in Mali for the past seven weeks (there the internet connection is very, but I mean very bad). Even though the wifi was limited, I did enjoy my vacation much more because I didn't rely on technology for entertainment *claps for Fifi*. This summer was one of the best summers that I've ever had because I was able to see my family, reconnect with friends, and enjoy the warm weather. I feel like time flew by so fast, but that only means that I truly enjoyed my stay in Mali. I'm really hoping that I'll visit again next year! Here are some highlights from the trip.

"Super Simple Sixteen"

Hey guys!

I know it's been a while, but between school and blogging I barely had time to record any of the interesting and fascinating things that have happened in my life. Since summer break has begun, my friends Ianthe and Monique have been urging me to post and I finally found time to post. I decided that the first event that I should share is my "Super Simple Sixteen".My sister and I just turned sixteen on June 15th and although I was imagining this huge and unforgettable party from the time I was like 8 years old, I never thought that a cake and the love of my family and friends would be all I need.I thought that I would share with you guys the two most unexpected (even though this gift was on my wish list) and expected gifts that I received . The first is my Michael Kors Medium Selma Satchel that I received from my mother.I adore this bag because it can be worn in many different occasions, whether it be a dress up or dress down event. I was a bit skeptical about the color because white can easily get dirty, but knowing me, I knew that keeping the bag clean would not be a hassle.
